Oh Apong! Ice Cream

The approach to Oh Apong Ice Cream Bar sought to create an insertion of a ‘cozy aesthetic’ housed within a modern building framework. Encapsulating the client’s spirit was paramount; to create a welcoming space and showcasing the art of Gula Apong ice cream production.

Suspended fabrics from the ceiling act as a second ceiling that hangs below the original one, aims to improve acoustic in the cafe by lowering the ceiling height, as well as adding in more absorptive materials. Warm-toned fabrics are selected for this ceiling installation, to complement the neutral palette of the space, providing a further layer of texture and materiality.
