Plywood Office
A former floor tile warehouse turned into a corporate office framed with plywood furniture. The original warehouse had two stories connected by an external staircase, with a rough volume articulated on two levels, storage in the basement, and show house on the upper floor. We wanted to restore the grandeur of the existing foundation and transform it into a multifunctional open office for employees. The program comprises an open plan office, lounges, pantry, mock bar, and kitchen. There are also showers upstairs, a fully equipped central kitchen, and a modular meeting room.
We wanted to unify the warehouse space - its pre-existing state by one distracting material and textural diversity. We neutralize the interior with a finish of solid cold off white., alongside custom made plywood furniture that spans across the interior. The contrast of existing glass enclosures and the exposed beams and trusses remains to express the industrial past of the space.
